Interpretive Design
We developed heritage interpretation for the new Eden Welcome Centre at the Port of Eden.
From concept to installation, we created an interpretive activation allowing visitors to discover the locations rich, maritime history. An outdoor Maritime History Path consisting of 12 informative paver stories, a Wildlife Panel showcasing the local area’s scenic offerings, are just some of the attractions developed in tandem with the client. Additionally, Eden’s rich Indigenous heritage was brought to life via 12 stories written in collaboration with a local Aboriginal writer and the Eden Local Aboriginal Land Council.
In 2022, the Eden Welcome Centre was awarded the prestigious Blacket Prize by the Institute of Architects and shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival in Lisbon.

“We are thrilled with The Destination Agency’s delivery of heritage interpretation at the new Eden Welcome Centre. The building masterfully tells a tale of local history, Indigenous art and storytelling like no other.”
